Why luxury apartments are worth so much in Seattle, according to research
A new study shows that Seattle is one of the best places to live for people who have both money and desire.
The median price for a two-bedroom apartment in Seattle was $2.27 million, up from $2 million a year ago, according the research firm Zillow.
In Seattle, the median income was $54,932 a year, up 6 percent from last year, according a report released Wednesday by the real estate analytics firm.
A total of 4,638 luxury apartments were sold in Seattle in August, the company said.
The average price was $1.2 million, an increase of 3.6 percent from the same month last year.
That compares with an average of $1 million in 2016.
A full-time student in Seattle earns an average salary of $57,832, according Zillower.
The median household income is $74,058, up 10.9 percent from 2016.
That includes the median family income of $83,924, up 5.5 percent from a year earlier.
